Limestone is sedimentary rock composed of mainly calcium carbonate. As a non-crystallized stone, it possesses very uniform composition, texture, and structure. Limestone is deposited on shallow sea beds, so it sometimes contains certain visible fossils patterns. Limestone ranges in color from white to gray, with many variations of ivory and light gold usually considered the most popular for countertop applications. The most popular finish for limestone is honed or on the other word, "matte". Limestone is commonly used for kitchen, bar and  tub surrounds, desks, or to carve fireplace surrounds. Additional uses are architecture application such as sill, molding, column and other areas requires a natural ascent.
